The Huron National Forest and the picturesque Ausable River are only a short drive away. Lumberman's Monument provides exhibits about Michigan's logging roots.
Dinosaur Gardens, in Ossineke north of Harrisville, is a beautiful wooded park filled with life-sized statues of dinosaurs. Kids( and grownups) can get up close and personal with a Tyranna-saurus Rex or throw pebbles into a slow-moving creek.

Sturgeon Point, just north of Harrisville of US23, is home to a beautiful restored lighthouse and historical museum open to visitors.
